Physiotherapy in New South Wales & Queensland
Complete Allied Health Care’s AHPRA-registered Physiotherapists work with patients across Greater Sydney & Queensland to assess, manage, and support recovery from a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological, post-surgical, and chronic conditions. All CAHC Physiotherapists hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and CAHC is a proud member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA). Our multilingual team includes Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, and Laotian-speaking Physiotherapists, making quality care accessible to culturally and linguistically diverse communities across Greater Sydney & Queensland. For patients who cannot travel to a clinic, home visit and mobile Physiotherapy services are available across NSW and QLD.
What Is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is an AHPRA-regulated health profession dedicated to assessing, managing, and supporting people with conditions that affect movement, physical function, and quality of life. In Australia, all practising Physiotherapists must complete a four-year university degree and hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) — protecting patients through a nationally consistent standard of clinical training and professional accountability. The Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) is the peak professional body, and all CAHC Physiotherapists maintain APA membership.
Physiotherapy services at CAHC are designed to support a broad patient population: people recovering from surgery, managing musculoskeletal injuries, living with neurological conditions, receiving NDIS-funded support, accessing aged care services under the Support at Home program, managing workplace and motor vehicle injuries, and athletes returning from sports injuries. Physiotherapy can also form part of a chronic disease management plan for patients with long-term health conditions.
At CAHC, Physiotherapy doesn’t work in isolation. Our Physiotherapists collaborate alongside Exercise Physiologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, Dietitians, Podiatrists, and Massage Therapists within the same network — allowing coordinated, multidisciplinary care plans tailored to each patient’s goals.

Fees & Funding
CAHC accepts all major funding streams for Physiotherapy. Below is a plain-English guide to each option.
Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan
If you have a chronic condition that has lasted, or is expected to last, six months or more, your GP may prepare a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan that includes a referral for up to 5 allied health sessions per calendar year under Medicare. To access Medicare-funded Physiotherapy at CAHC, book an appointment with your GP, request a CDM plan referral to Physiotherapy, and bring the referral to your first CAHC appointment. You can also visit the Services Australia website for further eligibility information. Rebate amounts are subject to change — confirm current rates with your GP or the clinic.
DVA (Department of Veterans’ Affairs)
CAHC accepts DVA-funded patients for Physiotherapy services. Gold Card holders are generally entitled to all clinically necessary Physiotherapy with no out-of-pocket cost. White Card holders can access Physiotherapy for accepted service-related conditions. Access is via a D904 referral form, available from your GP or treating specialist. Rebate amounts are subject to change — confirm current rates with your GP or the clinic.
WorkCover NSW / SIRA
CAHC is a SIRA (State Insurance Regulatory Authority) registered provider. Injured workers can access Physiotherapy following a workplace injury with a valid certificate of capacity from their GP. Once your claim is approved, there is no upfront cost for treatment. CAHC’s Free Insurance Claims Advisory service handles all insurer liaison and WorkCover paperwork on your behalf — you do not need to manage claim correspondence yourself. For more information, visit our Workers Compensation page.
CTP (Compulsory Third Party — Motor Vehicle Accidents)
If you have been injured in a motor vehicle accident in NSW, you may be entitled to Physiotherapy treatment under the CTP scheme for up to 52 weeks from the date of the accident. CAHC’s Free Insurance Claims Advisory manages all insurer paperwork so you can focus on your recovery. Under a single CTP claim, you may also access Exercise Physiology, Psychology, and Occupational Therapy through CAHC’s multidisciplinary network. For a full step-by-step guide to the CTP process, visit our CTP page.
NDIS
Physiotherapy may be funded under your NDIS plan through the Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living budget. Eligibility depends on your individual NDIS plan goals — speak with your support coordinator or contact us to confirm. CAHC’s NDIS Physiotherapy services include home visits and mobile appointments for participants who cannot attend a clinic. For more on NDIS allied health at CAHC, visit our NDIS page.
Private Health Insurance
Most major private health funds cover Physiotherapy under Extras cover, subject to your annual limits and per-session caps. CAHC offers on-the-spot HICAPS claiming at all clinic locations, so your rebate is applied immediately — you only pay the gap, if any. CAHC accepts the following health funds, among others: Bupa · HCF · Medibank · Westfund · HBF · nib. Rebate amounts vary by fund and policy — confirm your entitlements with your insurer before your appointment.
Self-Funded / Out-of-Pocket
No GP referral is required to book a private Physiotherapy appointment at CAHC. You are welcome to book online or call your nearest clinic to confirm current fees. Our front-desk team will be happy to explain your options before your first visit.
What to Expect — Your First Physiotherapy Appointment
Step 1 — Before you arrive Please bring any of the following that are relevant to your condition: a referral letter from your GP (required for Medicare CDM, WorkCover, CTP, and DVA appointments); your Medicare card and health fund card; any imaging or scans (X-ray, MRI, ultrasound); and a list of your current medications. Wear or bring comfortable clothing that allows your Physiotherapist to access the affected area.
Step 2 — Subjective assessment Your Physiotherapist will begin with a detailed conversation about your symptoms — how and when they started, what makes them better or worse, your medical history, and the goals you have for your recovery.
Step 3 — Physical examination Your Physiotherapist will carry out a hands-on physical assessment of your movement, strength, flexibility, and any relevant neurological or special tests to build a complete picture of your presentation.
Step 4 — Clinical assessment findings and management plan Your Physiotherapist will walk you through their clinical assessment findings, discuss your proposed management plan and expected recovery timeline, and answer any questions you have before proceeding.
Step 5 — Treatment commences In most cases, treatment begins in your first session. Common approaches include manual therapy, exercise prescription, dry needling, taping, and patient education. Your Physiotherapist will agree a follow-up schedule with you before you leave.
You are welcome to bring a support person to your appointment.
Our Physiotherapy Team
All CAHC Physiotherapists hold current AHPRA registration and maintain APA membership, ensuring your care meets Australia’s highest professional standards. Our network includes Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, and Laotian-speaking Physiotherapists, a genuine advantage for the culturally and linguistically diverse communities across Greater Sydney & Queensland who deserve care in their preferred language. CAHC also participates in the University of Sydney clinical placement program, supporting the next generation of allied health professionals across our network. To confirm language availability at your preferred location, please contact the clinic directly.
What Our Patients Say
Across our network, CAHC holds 2,757 five-star Google reviews, see what patients at our Campbelltown clinic are saying about our Physiotherapy team.

Are You a Medical Practitioner?
CAHC welcomes GP, specialist, NDIS support coordinator, and case manager referrals for Physiotherapy across all funding streams. GPs can refer patients via a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan for up to 5 Medicare-rebated allied health sessions per calendar year, or via a standard referral letter for WorkCover, CTP, DVA, and privately funded patients — the referral process is straightforward, and our team will handle the rest.
CAHC’s Free Insurance Claims Advisory is a strongly differentiated service for referring practitioners: our patient management team takes over all WorkCover and CTP insurer correspondence on behalf of both the patient and the referring GP or case manager. You will not need to manage claim paperwork or insurer follow-up. This service is provided at no cost to the patient or the referring clinician.
Our multilingual Physiotherapy team — including Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, and Laotian speakers — serves a large CALD patient population across Greater Sydney & Queensland, making CAHC an ideal referral choice for practices in diverse-community catchments. Please contact the relevant clinic directly to confirm which languages are available at each location.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
No. For private or self-funded appointments, anyone can book directly with a CAHC Physiotherapist — no GP referral is required, and you can book online or by phone today. However, a GP referral is required if you wish to access Medicare-funded sessions under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan, or if you are accessing Physiotherapy through DVA, WorkCover, or CTP. For a CDM plan, your GP will assess your eligibility (generally, a chronic condition lasting or expected to last six months or more), prepare the plan, and provide a referral letter — bring this to your first CAHC appointment. If you are unsure which pathway applies to you, our front-desk team can guide you when you call.
Physiotherapy fees at CAHC vary depending on your funding stream. For self-funded appointments, please call your nearest clinic or visit our website to confirm current private fees. If you hold a Medicare CDM plan referral from your GP, a Medicare rebate applies to each eligible session — rebate amounts are subject to change, so confirm current rates with your GP or the clinic. If you have private health insurance with Extras cover, CAHC offers on-the-spot HICAPS claiming; your rebate is applied immediately and you pay only the gap, if any — confirm your specific rebate amount with your fund before attending. For approved WorkCover and CTP claims, there is no upfront cost to the patient — CAHC’s Free Insurance Claims Advisory handles all insurer paperwork on your behalf.
The number of sessions that may be beneficial varies from person to person and depends on the nature of your condition, your goals, and how you respond to treatment. Your Physiotherapist will discuss an expected management plan — including an indicative session frequency and duration — at your first appointment, and will review this with you as your progress unfolds. CAHC Physiotherapists tailor management plans to individual needs; we will not prescribe unnecessary appointments.
Yes, in certain circumstances. Medicare covers Physiotherapy under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan, which your GP can initiate if you have a chronic condition that has lasted or is expected to last six months or more. Under a CDM plan, Medicare subsidises up to 5 allied health sessions per calendar year — Physiotherapy is one of the eligible disciplines. You will need a current CDM plan referral from your GP to access this rebate at CAHC. Rebate amounts are subject to change — confirm current rates with your GP or the clinic.
Physiotherapy may be funded through your NDIS plan under the Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living budget. Eligibility depends on your individual NDIS plan goals — speak with your support coordinator or contact us to confirm. CAHC accepts both plan-managed and NDIA-managed funding, and home visits are available for NDIS participants who are unable to travel to a clinic. For full details on NDIS Physiotherapy and all nine allied health disciplines available under NDIS at CAHC, please visit our NDIS page.
Yes. CAHC provides home visit and mobile Physiotherapy services across NSW and QLD for patients who are unable to attend a clinic — including NDIS participants, aged care and Support at Home clients, post-surgical patients, and patients with mobility limitations. Home visits are available from several of our clinic locations. Please contact your nearest clinic or visit our Home Visits page and Mobile Physiotherapy page to confirm coverage in your area.
CAHC’s Physiotherapy team includes practitioners who speak Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, and Laotian. Language availability varies by clinic location, so when booking please mention your preferred language and our team will match you with an appropriate practitioner where possible. For patients whose preferred language is not directly covered by our team, CAHC also utilises the TIS National interpreter service to support appointments.
You can book a CAHC Physiotherapy appointment online via our website’s booking widget, by phone to your nearest clinic, or by walking in during opening hours. Some CAHC clinics use the Nookal booking system (JT Physio-branded locations including Campbelltown) and others use PracSuite — the booking button on each location page will direct you to the correct system for that clinic. If you are unsure which clinic to book with, or which funding pathway applies to your situation, our front-desk team is happy to help — simply call your nearest location or submit a callback request via our Contact page.
For your first appointment, please bring: a referral letter from your GP (required for Medicare CDM, WorkCover, CTP, and DVA appointments; not required for private bookings); your Medicare card; your private health fund card if applicable; any relevant imaging or scans such as X-rays, MRI, or ultrasound reports; and a list of your current medications. Please also wear or bring comfortable clothing that gives your Physiotherapist easy access to the area being assessed.
Yes. CAHC is a SIRA-registered provider and is well-practised in managing Physiotherapy for both WorkCover (workplace injury) and CTP (motor vehicle accident) claims in NSW. Our Free Insurance Claims Advisory service handles all insurer correspondence and paperwork on your behalf — there is no upfront cost for patients with approved claims, and you do not need to manage communication with the insurer yourself. For full details on the WorkCover process, visit our Workers Compensation page. For CTP motor vehicle accident rehabilitation, visit our CTP page.
Yes. Physiotherapy is commonly incorporated into chronic pain management plans as part of a broader, multidisciplinary approach. At CAHC, Physiotherapy for chronic pain may be complemented by Exercise Physiology, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or other disciplines available within the same network — your treating team will work together to support your goals. If you have a chronic condition lasting six months or more, your GP may be able to refer you under a CDM plan, which provides Medicare rebates for eligible allied health sessions. Rebate amounts are subject to change — confirm current rates with your GP or the clinic. If your symptoms relate to an underlying medical diagnosis, please ensure you are also under the care of your GP.
Not necessarily. Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists (EPs) are complementary but distinct disciplines, and the right starting point depends on your individual situation. Physiotherapy is typically most appropriate for acute injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, and pain management — conditions where hands-on assessment and manual therapy are often central to the management plan. Exercise Physiology, on the other hand, focuses on long-term chronic disease management (such as diabetes, cardiac conditions, and obesity), cancer rehabilitation, and sustained conditioning programs. Many patients at CAHC see both a Physiotherapist and an Exercise Physiologist over the course of their care — often simultaneously, under a coordinated plan. CAHC has both disciplines available at most locations, and our team can advise you on the best starting point for your needs. For more information, visit our Exercise Physiology page.
