Our Physiotherapists, along with our other service providers, accept Support at Home Program referrals!
What is Support at Home Program (SAH)?
- Government funded program for those who has care needs and especially helpful when a coordinated approach to the delivery of help at home is needed.
- Cover assistance with everyday task such as housework, gardening, cooking and more complex services including allied health services and/or personal care.
Who is Eligible?
In order to qualify for a Support at Home Program, you need to be over 65 years of age (50 years or older for Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander people) and require support in at least three areas of your life.
What are the benefits of Physiotherapy services?
- Improved mobility: Help regain and maintain mobility, making it easier to perform daily activities
- Pain management: Techniques such as manual therapy, exercises and other modalities can help manage pain
- Falls prevention: Can assess balance and strength to provide exercise and strategies to reduce risk of falls
- Respiratory support: For individuals with respiratory conditions, Physiotherapists can teach breathing techniques and chest physiotherapy to improve lung function and overall respiratory health
- Chronic condition management: Physiotherapy can be effective in managing chronic conditions like arthritis, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases through exercises and education
- Education and empowerment: Physiotherapists educate patients and caregivers about their conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies, empowering them to take an active role in their own health
