Our physiotherapists have fortnightly inservices to ensure they are constantly learning the best treatments for our patients & refine their already fantastic skills.
Their most recent inservice was on how to use tape effectively.
Taping is a temporary technique & is usually used in conjunction with other treatments. It is
often used to protect existing injuries & re-injury by restricting the movement of injured joints,
reduce swelling by compressing soft tissue and support anatomical structures.
Taping can help:
- Relieve pain
- Prevent injury
- Reduce re-injury
- Stabilise joints
- Minimise strain on injured tissues
- Correct biomechanics
- Restrict & facilitate muscle action
- Compress & reduce swelling
